Morning. Performance and Video of Leonid Kharlamov

In the video, a musician plays a melody in the barn in front of the cows. This unique moment emphasizes the unusual connections between humans and nature, where music becomes a language of understanding between them. The scene of farm life carries a profound meaning of mutual dependence and perception, creating a poignant picture of loneliness and the pursuit of connection.

Capella

A person in a Mexican wrestling mask uses a sledgehammer and hammers for creative expression. This artwork highlights the unusual combination of strength and creativity, prompting viewers to contemplate the boundary between aggression and artistic self-expression. The video emphasizes the aesthetics of unexpected combinations and explores strength as an integral part of the creative process.

Troika

In this video, three men interact by towing a police car from one barrier to another using ropes. This imagery could symbolize a protest against power or socio-cultural issues, prompting an internal dialogue about control, authority, and societal relationships. The introspection evoked by the video might lead to reflections on the individual's role in the system, their influence on power, and the possibilities for changing the status quo

Hydra

Ivan and Sonja

In an abandoned boarding school for troubled teenagers in Bulgaria, the scratched names Ivan and Sonya on the wall silently testify to the past. In the corridor of the mysterious building captured on video, diverse individuals sing love songs in different languages, their figures gradually fading away. In the end, only a little boy remains, singing a song about love in English, filling the emptiness of the abandoned spaces with the warmth of his voice.

"Contemporary Barbarians"

The video "Contemporary Barbarians" offers a reflection on how the so-called "high culture" is challenged by the harsh reality. While the opera singer presents her performance, the fence with the cut-out word "Hochkultur" is carried past by two anonymous figures. This scene symbolizes the confrontation between the idealized world of high culture and the harsh realities of life. The action of destroying or removing the "Hochkultur" inscription suggests that this traditional notion of culture is not immune to the challenges and changes of time. Rather, it is influenced and possibly even questioned by circumstances and environment. Thus, the video raises the question of how the definition of culture changes in a constantly evolving world and how it adapts to the realities and needs of society. It invites us to think about the relationship between art, culture, and social dynamics and how they influence and shape each other.

"Limês"

In ancient Rome, "limês" denoted a boundary or demarcation line, especially in the context of the empire's borders or territory.
